The purpose of CLASS is to simulate the evolution of linear perturbations in the universe and to compute CMB and large scale structure observables.
2.
One of the earliest results from chaos theory, for the non-linear perturbations of dynamical systems with a small number of degrees of freedom is the KAM theorem, which states that the invariant tori are stable under small perturbations.
3.
Most of this research involves the treatment of sufficiently small but nevertheless fully non-linear perturbations of certain special backgrounds and includes an analysis of higher as well as lower-dimensional spacetimes in addition to physical ( 3 + 1 )-dimensional spacetime.
4.
Simulations of this system ( or a simple linear perturbation analysis ) demonstrate that such systems are unstable : any motion away from the perfect geometric configuration causes an oscillation, eventually leading to the disruption of the system ( Klemperer's original article also states this fact ).
